This past weekend was the 2014 National Kickboxing Competition in Burlington, Ontario.
I am so excited to tell you that for the first time ever Train's Fitness had fighters compete! This was incredibly exciting for us and a complete dream come true!
We sent two female fighters, Sherri MacNeill and Jodi Phillips. For Sherri, she was competing again after 4 loses, never giving up. She won her first fight in the Low-Kick division which advanced her to the finals where she fought a great fight, taking home the Silver medal. Jodi fought in the K-1 division. This was her first time stepping in the ring after 5 attempts to fight. She did great, going the distance and taking home the Bronze. Her opponent then went on to win the belt in their division.
Our club was the only club in attendance at the Nationals representing not only PEI but the Maritimes as a whole which was such an honour. I am so proud of my fighters who showed such dedication and perseverance. I hope that this is just the start of the competition side of the club and that Train's Fitness will be sending many more into battle!
